A Gotra is a patrilineal lineage or clan, tracing its origin back to a Vedic sage. It signifies the shared ancestry and spiritual heritage of a family. Our lineage, or **Gotra**, originates from the sage **Upamanyu**, a renowned Rishi and a disciple of the sage Ayodhadhaumya.
Pravar: The Honored Sages
The Pravar is a list of the most distinguished ancestors within a Gotra, recited during rituals to honor the founding Rishis. Our **Pravar** honors three prominent Rishis: **Vashishtha, Indrapramad, and Bharadvasu**.

Veda: Rig Veda

The Shakha refers to a specific branch of the Vedas. Our tradition follows the **Ashvalayani Shakha**, which is a specific recension and school of thought related to the Rig Veda.

An Upveda is a supplementary Veda. Ours is **Ayurveda**, the ancient system of holistic health and medicine, which focuses on maintaining balance in body and mind.
The Divine Protectors
These are the revered deities who are worshipped as the protectors, guides, and benefactors of the family lineage.
Kuldevi: Bahusmarna
The family goddess, worshipped as the primary protector and spiritual guide of the lineage, revered for her blessings over generations.
Mahadev: Someshwar
Our family's revered form of Lord Shiva. This specific form is worshipped as our ancestral protector and a source of cosmic energy.
Bhairav: Anand
A fierce manifestation of Shiva, Lord Anand Bhairav is worshipped to ward off negative energies and grant peace and happiness.
Ganpati: Vighna Vinayak
The remover of obstacles. This form of Lord Ganesha is invoked at the beginning of all auspicious events to ensure success.
